Every fabrication shop has to have a good quality english wheel to help in the correct forming of sheet metal. But not all wheels are made the same; strength, rigidity, and throat depth are the most important things when looking at an english wheel.
The EW-40 is as ridged as an english wheel with a throat depth of 37-3/4’ can be. It uses 5”x 5” x .250” box tubing for the frame work. This frame is fully welded for even less flex when rolling at full capacity. The EW-40 is rated to form up to 16 gauge mild steel, giving the fabricating shop years of quality shaping and forming metal.
The EW-40 ships complete with nine bottom anvils and three 6" upper wheels allowing the user to roll beads as well as form metal. Anvils come in 1/8”, 1/2”, and ¾” edge radius as well as a 6” crown radius. The EW-40 also comes with two flat rolls, a 5/16” x ¼” step roll as well as 1-1/2” and 5/8” round bead rolls. Another great feature of the EW-40 English wheel is the ability to rotate the head allowing the user to either push into the throat or at a 90° to it. A real rubber kick tensioner rounds out the package. This is one complete English wheel!
